Laser etched Welsh slate
I now do a range of Welsh slate, these can be used as coasters or stood up on a small photo stand. The standard slates are approx. 4" square (10 cm square) and have 4 foam feet for coaster use.
My laser machine can engrave, etch and cut (Wood) I initially coat the slate with a hard Acrylic gloss spray, this brings out the colour and depth of the slate. When it is fully hardened, I engrave a design on with the cnc machine, this is a permanent engraving, not a painting, so it won't rub off as paint would.
